I am Dr. Tricia Braxton, Candidate for Member State Board of Education District 1, and I ask that you join me to protect education. I have called Nevada my home for over 20 years. As a dedicated educator, I am driven to engage students and teachers to help find sustainable solutions. I understand why investing in our children, youth, and educators is vital to the success of our community. I have dedicated the past ten years to providing community-based education in support of Pre K-12 classrooms in public, private, and charter schools within Clark County. The positive results of my work are due to intentional partnership-building and solution-based collaborations. I was also a 1st then 3rd-grade teacher at a local private school for several years. My career experience is vast! Before moving out west to raise my family, I lived in New York and served my community as a New York City police officer. I come from a law enforcement family who instilled in me a solid work ethic. I am fully aware of the system factors that affect education, such as the economy, housing, and access to health care.
